Choosing Putin Over Poutine: Tsaríshka Trump’s War on Canada and the World

Mar 5, 2025

Today, we wake to an unprovoked declaration of war—not one fought with bombs and missiles, but an economic war waged against Canada by Trump. This brutal trade war is based on a justification so flimsy it crumbles under even the barest scrutiny.

Let’s be clear: this is not a war by the American people against their closest allies and friends. This is a war of greed and power crafted by an egotistical man, aimed at crushing Canada.  This is a crisis manufactured by a political leader who prioritizes power over people, one that will leave lasting scars on communities in both of our nations. The new tariffs imposed by the U.S. on Canada, Mexico, and China will disrupt industries, eliminate jobs, and push families into financial despair.

This is not just about trade policies—it’s about the livelihoods of millions. This is an economic war that threatens our jobs, our families, and our future. It will literally kill thousands of people.

Why am I, a home healthcare and technology CEO, writing about this? At Stay at Home Nursing and CHAH Technology, our focus is on helping people in medical crisis.  The headlines on this issue will focus on stock markets and economic reports. But make no mistake—this war has a body count.

The economic war declared by Trump will devastate working-class Americans and Canadians alike:

Projected Job Losses

  • Canada: Up to 510,000 jobs lost—crippling industries, families, and local economies.
  • United States: 1.65 million Americans out of work across three economic war fronts:
    • 400,000 lost jobs in the war with Canada.
    • 550,000 lost jobs in the war with Mexico.
    • 700,000 lost jobs in the war with China.
    • At the same time, Tsaryónish Musk is obliterating another 200,000–300,000 U.S. jobs in domestic sectors.

This economic catastrophe will hit every working family across North America. But let’s go beyond the numbers—let’s talk about the human toll.

  • 1.65 million job losses will impact over 5 million Americans and their families, pushing many into financial ruin.
  • Suicides will rise by 1–3%—meaning up to 1,300 additional deaths directly caused by Trump’s reckless actions.
  • Domestic violence and child abuse could increase by 20–30%, adding up to 3 million more cases per year—because economic despair breeds violence.
  • Property crimes will spike 1.5–3%—leading to 200,000 more burglaries and thefts
  • Drug-related crimes will rise by 1–2%, further fueling addiction and destruction in already struggling communities.

These aren’t just statistics. These are real lives—our neighbors, friends, and family members—who will suffer because of one man’s megalomania.

This war is unnecessary. It serves no one but Trump and his oligarch enablers. It will devastate families in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and China, all so that one man and his corrupt allies can consolidate power and wealth.

But we can resist. We must resist.

Americans: Demand an End to This War

  • Call your local representatives, senators, and governors. Demand that the tariffs be lifted immediately.
  • Protest, organize, and mobilize—this war hurts you just as much as it hurts Canadians.
  • Boycott tariffed goods—refuse to pay inflated prices caused by this disastrous policy.
  • Support American workers and unions demanding an end to this economic carnage.
  • Reject authoritarianism—vote against Trump and his cronies who seek to dismantle democracy for personal gain.

Canadians: Stand United Against This Attack

  • Support our government’s countermeasures—no matter your political views, we must act as one.
  • Boycott American goods—shift purchasing to Canadian-made products and diversify trade with Europe and Asia.
  • Support affected workers—donate to food banks, advocate for relief programs, and rally around those impacted.
  • Organize in communities—from churches to local businesses, build networks to help struggling families.

Cross-Border Solidarity: Americans and Canadians Must Stand Together

  • Unite against this economic war—American and Canadian businesses, unions, and activists must work together to force an end to this disaster.
  • Protest at key border points—Windsor-Detroit, Buffalo-Niagara, Vancouver-Seattle. Show solidarity.
  • Spread the message online—use social media to expose the human cost of Trump’s war and demand action.

This trade war may last weeks, months, or years—but its impact will last for decades.

The brutal truth is that we cannot trust American politicians to do the right thing. Trump’s nationalist authoritarianism represents a permanent danger to Canada, to democracy, and to the global economy.

As much as we love the American people, we must build defenses against the rise of American extremism. Canada must prepare for a world where the U.S. is no longer a reliable partner. We must forge new alliances, strengthen our economy, and stand ready to fight for our sovereignty.

But we are not powerless. We can resist. And we must act now.

Speak out. Organize. Demand action. Support one another.

And never forget who started this war— and who must be stopped.

Trump is not America.

The American people are not our enemies.

But Trump’s America is a threat to us all.

We still have power. We still have voices. We still have each other. If we stand together, we can stop this madness—before democracy itself becomes a memory
